Looking ahead to 2009

The Wesley Curtin Tigers finished the year with 4 out of the 6 sides playing in finals. It iwas also the first time for over 20 years that the Wesley side played in A grade finals and having played three finals will acquit the players well for the 2009 season. Congratulations to Marty Atkins who coached for the first time and successfully managed the players both on and off the field.

The 2008 season witnessed 5 of our players making the WA State side with Scott Horsborough earning selection to the All Australian side. Ben Goodall and Glen Austen won the Association Fairest & Best for A League and A Reserves respectively.

The 2009 season planning has begun in earnest and coaches are being sought for the following teams:-

Phil Scott Colts (1st Colts)
E Grade
E Reserves
Laurie Keene Colts (2nd Colts)

Please nominate your interest to coach the following teams as we hope to announce the coaches for 2009 well before the pre-season campaign kicks off.

On behalf of the club, we wish everyone a happy and safe off season and we look forward to each of you returning in season 2009.

Pre-season kicks off on the 14th of January 2009 at South Oval. Bring your sand shoes and boots for a blow out the cobwebs session.
